My bishop pair was dominating at the centre of the board compared to my queen who was somewhat misplaced on b3.
Stockfish discovers a mate in 14 on move 23 only with a minimum of depth 26.
After 22...f5??, black's pawn on e6 becomes a permanent weakness and a focus for white's attack. At one point in the game, all of white's pieces are attacking the e4 pawn, and all of black's pieces are paralysed defending it. With the looming threat of checkmate on g8, white gains a winning position.
This is one of the very rare times I received a !! "Brilliant" annotation by the chess.com engine, so I decided to feature this game.
Although we both made many mistakes in the early mid-game, I enjoyed my (sound!) queen sacrifice and under promotion. Unfortunately, because this was a 3 minute blitz game with no increment, I was not able to find the forced mate, and my opponent lost on time.
